Know what you know or think you do? - make connections. I've been wading into this information - now - I believe it is time for me to eat breath and inhale these particular writers. For the next two weeks I will be carting around flash cards and ruminating while sitting in traffic on the finer points of Adorno, Benjamin, Jenkins ect... - some of the writers I take to more than others they in other words speak my lingo. Eco is easy for me he makes sense, as are Jenkins. Adorno not so easy. I love the concept of the "participatory culture" people are re inventing art. They make over Star Wars to be funny or political or what ever catches their interest. I don't think this fan culture is going to go away. I believe that despite attack lawyers waiting to pounce on copy right infringement - The big entertainment giants will find - as in the case of Snakes on a plane - a crappy movie can become a campy movie and the box office can prosper from Free bloggers getting the word out. Unfortunately Snakes on a Plane did not do as well the theory is that the demographic of 18-25 year old males either did not go to the movie or went by themselves. As I see it the movie still made more money than it should have. In any other situation it would have gone straight to video. My crystal ball tells me that the blog world is going to be mined for the potential gold mine that it is. Perhaps we will see data mining programs written to seek out particular blogs.
